Just snippets !!

“Unlike charges attract”, said my Physics teacher in my introductory Static charge class. Little did I realize that I was going to live to realize this simple fact had even greater ramifications in my life. Married to him for precisely 14 years and 2 months, many things surely stand out…his passion for cricket, his prowess in share trading, love of the work he does, his great urge to eat idlis every morning , his intelligent and sarcastic but jocular comments , his ever so fastidious-picky-choosy attitude on everything from his hand phone(mine too btw) to the people he talks to (If I can add even I talk to!!), keen eye for cleanliness, a palette for good traditional food and a fatherly affection that he showers on all at home.

We have had our share of fights and arguments and I must admit that his patience and reason has always surpassed mine. The ‘Steam Engine’ in the making that I am, I realize the steady and sturdy man who drove the engine thus far has not only won my love and respect but also my admiration. But wait people I hope you read the 'drove the engine' well. Adam Smith's division of labour couldn't find a better exemplar to show. His old pal once told me, “He has his head on his shoulders always!”. How right! Not once can u find him say an extra word or make a comment for the sake of making one. While that can be embarrassing to other people as they are left to handle the awful silences it actually cuts him uniquely. And I like that!
His love for all forms of music has seeped into the rest of us in the family. Ghazals, carnatic, folk, light, rap and pop…oops not to miss his taste in heavy metal music(this has not seeped into me in all these years!!!).  So you see people the only thing we guys actually owned in the first few years of our marriage was an amazing music system….the best that was offered in our country!!  So much for the love of music. The funny part is with the music system in the centre for years we sat on the mat on the floor listening to the myriad songs from different genres. Those parties were perhaps the best ones in my life!
Now for the big thing…while this part annoyed me and still sometimes does..is the impeccable memory for all the festival days and sigh…!!!I had to get the right delicacies in the right way at the right time. That is and always been a herculean task for me! Our journey through the years has seen many many mishaps with these delicacies to which he will patiently tell me to keep trying. I am still trying you see! Common ladies it pays to have a patient partner…learning can take its own cool time!:)
Wait does this all give you the impression he is an all strict dorm parent around!! Sorry he has his eccentricities too  !  And may be better off kept away from this blogspot hereJ. While the arrival of the daughter has kind of doubled the madness, its what makes him so adorable around for her. While the two of them team up very well, there is a certain happiness their bonding brings to me! I am sure a lot of mothers will agree with this part. Perhaps a recap of the adorable  daughters we made with our dads! No speculation here as this can lead to a new post altogether.

Twosome!!

After a Bday party at home!

The first visit to the Forum Mall Bangalore!

Let me stop…these really really short snippets of the man makes me realize that there is uniqueness in the important people around us. That perhaps marks them apart and cuts them differently. Its true and amazing how god brings people together..after all I do agree that marriages are made in heaven!! Ah the man agrees too!!
